Calcaneus and talus fracture

Share Your Story: Talus Fracture Show and Tell

By Octavio

Updated March 12, 2011

How Did It Happen?

I missed a step coming down the stairs but managed not to fall by pulling myself up with the siderails. What did happen was my left ankle rolled. I figured it was just a sprained ankle so continued to work till the pain was just too much about 2 hours later. I went directly to the ER and had XRay done, nondisplaced calcaneus fracture. I was told to go see a Specialist who did more Xrays and discovered a nondisplaced Talus fracture. I was put in a cast for 6 weeks!

How Was Your Recovery?

I'm 4 weeks post injury and still feel some pains in my foot with cast on. I'm praying that when cast is removed in two weeks it'll just be uphill from there. _________________________________________ Talus fractures often have a lengthy healing process and getting the right care quickly can be the difference in a complete recovery and a chronic injury.
