How Did It Happen?

I fell 4 foot off a ladder and fractured my talus back in 2001 and damaged the blood supply. I had surgery next day. The bone started to die and I had to have the plaster off early.

How Was Your Recovery?

18 months but it has never been the same and now 9 years on I have had toe fusion in 2010 the toes curled and the ankle aches most of the time and is painfull when I walk 50 yards or more. I was told by a very good specialist now retired that it would cause me problems for all my life. Never a truer word spoken

Tips and Tricks

  • soak in hot water take the pain killers and most of all do not put weight on it at all I did not put any weight on it for 15 months as told to do by consultant

How Long Was It Before You Returned to Sports?

I could not play sports again and it even affected my stance when I played pool and snooker and I was never as good as I was. The talus is the worst bone to fracture so I was told.
