Adduction - Adduct - Definition

Definition: A kinesiology term which means to move toward the midline or median (Sagittal) plane of the body or toward an adjacent part or limb. This action is achieved by an adductor muscle. It is the opposite of abduction.
Examples: To adduct the arm would mean you move it from an extended position (away from the body) down and close to the side and close to the midline of the body.
