sports psychology

Sports psychology experts have created a complete, structured and practical textbook for students, coaches and athletes who want to understand and apply mental skills training to improve sports performance.

Pros

This is the best book about sport psychology I have reviewed in a while. What makes it stand out is the practical, real world examples and scenarios that readers get to practice what they are learning. This comes in the form of a related on-line study guide. These guides are interactive, audio clips of expert interviews, video examples of sports psychologists working (and applying learned techniques) with athletes

Bottom Line

The book also includes all the old standard information about the field of sports psychology. What it is, history, research and the common areas of focus, such as motivation, teamwork, competition and relaxation training. You won't miss much if this is your first introduction to the field of sports psychology.
