Some of the best training advice comes from people who excel in their sport. I asked Olympic track star, Jeremy Wariner to share some of his best tips and training secrets. This is what he had to say.

What is your favorite training exercise & Why?
My favorite training exercise would be the 250 workout. It has to be the easiest workout that I have throughout the week so that's why it's my favorite. [Editor's note: I tried without success to learn exactly what Jeremy does in his mysterious "250 workout" but he wasn't sharing].

What are the 5 "Must Do" Exercises for your sport?
Warm up properly, stretch, drills, warm-down, and ice bath.

Share one training secret that average exercisers can use to improve their performance.
Make sure your muscles are nice and loose before you do any type of workout.

What is your favorite Abdominal or Core Workout?
Any type of sit-ups.

How do you heal quickly from injuries?
Well before I ever get hurt if I do I'm always making sure my body is healthy. I'm always in the training room taking ice baths after workout and heating up before workouts. If I do get injured then I make sure I see my trainer every day to get worked on.

Do you have any pre-competition rituals or superstitions?
Really the only thing I do every competition is warm up the same way every time. Before the race when we are just standing behind our blocks I go to the finish line and focus on my race and visualize my race.

What makes you a champion?
I have confidence in myself and know when I get on the track I'm going to win.
