Background and Accomplishments:
Misty May-Treanor, along with her volleyball partner Kerri Walsh, won a gold medal in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Family:
After success in Athens, Misty married Matt Treanor, a catcher on the Florida Marlins. She grew up in an athletic family and learned how to play volleyball from her father, Robert "Butch" May, who was a member of the 1968 U.S. volleyball team that placed seventh at the Mexico City Olympics.
Other Interests:
When she's not training, Misty likes playing golf and spending time with her two dogs, both boxers.
