Fractured Ulnar HeadWhat Happened:
It was to be my madien voyage - mountain biking in Utahs slickrock country. My daughter had told my husband and I that this was indeed an easy (well, maybe intermediate) trail and I would be fine. Not more than half way through the ride, I took a spill and landed square on my elbow. I got up and realized that I wasn't able to steer the bike anymore, much less ride back to the car. I began to push my bike the 7 miles back to the start of the trail. Surprizingly, I was able to keep pace with the rest of my group fairly easily. Back at the car, we thought it might be wise to have the elbow x-rayed. The unfortunate part about the fractured Ulna was the fact that it was the first day of our trip. I spent the rest of the week hiking rather than biking.Current Prognosis:
All healed and biking stillWhat Was Learned:
When a seasoned cyclist describes a mountain biking trail as 'a piece of cake,' you better update you health insurance.Email (Optional):
