Muscle pain and soreness that occurs 24 - 48 hours after you finish exercising is a normal response to unusual exertion. It is an indication that you did too much, too soon and need to adjust your workout program. D.O.M.S. is part of an adaptation process that leads to greater stamina and strength as the muscles recover and build.
