It probably didn't take a research study to make this connection, but experts have linked wearing a helmet with a reduced the risk of head and neck injuries in skiers and snowboarders. They also stated that wearing a helmet doesn't up the risk taking behavior of skiers and boarders.
I've recommended helmets before, and will do so again this winter. Not only is wearing a helmet safer, but it is becoming a fashion statement as well. Besides, a helmet keeps your head a whole lot warmer than your old knit hat.
