If you're like me, you don't want to spend all your vacation time just sitting on a beach. My vacations generally leave me in as good if not better shape than when I left home. Having an entire week or more to spend being active and doing things I don't get to do at home is not only a great adventure, but great exercise.
Some of my favorite vacations have been planned to maximize movement, and have included bike touring, skiing, backpacking and kayak trips. And although my vacations can be exhausting, I always return home rejuvenated, in better shape and ready for a return to the daily routine.
