Athletic Socks - What Socks Are Best for Sports?

Athletic socks come in a variety of styles and materials from cotton to wool and everything in between. The main functions of quality athletic socks are to reduce friction, provide appropriate cushioning and keep the foot dry, all of which reduce the risk of developing either blisters or athlete's foot.
