Lightning Claims 5 in a Week - What You Need to Know About Lightning Safety

According to the National Weather Service July marks the peak in lightning activity each summer and this year lightning resulted in 5 deaths in just one week.

According to NOAA, (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), lightning is the second-leading weather killer in the United States. It is also one of the most dangerous and frequently encountered weather hazards that many physically active people face each year.

Summer storms often bring lightning, so if you exercise outdoors, you might want to brush up on these reminders for Lightning Safety During Summer Sports.
