Want to Complete Your First Marathon? Consider Your Reasons for Running

Training for a marathon primarily to lose weight may lead to dropout. That is one of the findings of a research study that looked at the different motivations between first-time marathon runners who complete the race and those who dropout of training altogether. Those who were running to lose weight or gain recognition were more likely to drop out of marathon training.
